The original cards from this set are now nearly 100 years old. Team sets - to say nothing of the full 200 cards - are not within the budgets of any but the well-heeled hobbyists among us. An excellent feature length article on this set and its companion (M101-4), produced by printer Mendelsohn, appears in the Summer 2008 issue of Old Cardboard magazine. League parity had been very nearly achieved as just three clubs finished above .500 and the difference between first and last place was but 21 games! The following season, McGraw's minions muscled their way to a good 86-66 fourth place finish - just 7 games away from the title and in '17 the Giants won the National League title outright.
