Description: Brand new reproduction fuel tank for all 1953-64 Studebaker C/K and Hawk models. This tank is also correct for 1958 station wagons (WILL NOT FIT ANY OTHER YEAR STATION WAGON). Factory part number 1544597. These are galvanized steel and the exterior is powder coated black. 18 gallon capacity, just as original. This is an exact copy of the 1958-1964 Hawk tank, but will work in the earlier models with minor alterations. On 1953-55 C/K's, remove the threaded fitting on your car's fuel line and use a short section of fuel hose with clamps. On 1956-57 Hawks, plug the pick-up tube on the new tank, or use the 1958 style gas gauge sending unit and re-route your fuel line. These tanks do NOT fit any other cars outside of the 1953-1964 Coupe/Hardtop/Hawk series. This tank will NOT fit your Avanti, Lark, two or four door sedan, bulletnose, or truck.
