Description: DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY THIS PIECE WAS ACQUIRED IN ITALY AND IS FASHIONED OF A DARK CHARCOAL GREY FLECKED THICK WOOL WITH ETCHED BLACK JET GLASS BUTTONS CLOSING THE FRONT HAVING A MONOGRAM AND CROWN DETAILING ON EACH WITH MATCHING SMALLER BUTTONS TRIMMING EACH CUFF AND MATCHING BUTTONS ON THE TOP OF THE VENTED REAR. POCKETS ARE ON EACH SIDE OF THE FRONT WITH A WATCH POCKET ON THE WAIST SEAM OF THE RIGHT SIDE. THE INTERIOR HAS A POCKET ON THE INNER CHEST HAVING THE ITALIAN OWNER’S NAME AND THIS PIECE WAS MADE IN LONDON. THE INTERIOR TOP AND ARMS ARE LINED IN A WINDOWPANE PATTERN WOOL BROADCLOTH WITH POCKETS HIDDEN ON EACH SIDE OF THE TAILS. CONDITION: IN EXEMPLARY CONDITION WITH ONLY VERY MINOR AGE YELLOWING ON THE COLLAR EDGE, NOTE THAT IT IS ACCENTUATED BY THE SUNLIGHT. THE REAR SEAM AT THE NECKLINE IS BEGINNING TO OPEN SLIGHTLY AND SEVERAL STITCHES WOULD FULLY RESOLVE.
