He served as Project and Deputy Director/Manager over multiple key programs including the Hubble Space Telescope receiving multiple Exceptional and Leadership Service Medals with one being for the Lunar Rover Vehicle and Skylab. After retiring in 1999 from NASA, he remained on as a Advisory board member consulting with NASA on similar projects that would have been under his guidance/direction during his time at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
