Description: Antique German Simon & Halbig 1078 Doll Fully Dressed in Antique German costume of the area of Dachaucompare doll pn page 252 of Cieslik's German Doll Encyclopedia for similarities Fully dressed from top of bonnet to bottom of shoed feet is about 22 inchesno cracks found in the bisque head were found - only small white spots around the rim from a wig pullshe has a cardboard pateall fingers in tacteyes open and close and brush eye lashes as well as painted lashes4 teethears are not pierced On her back is a red stamp mark that is not identified. It seems to be a square with a circle in the middle and some sort of leaf or clover in the middle with the words "made in German" going around the bottom right corner. Most of the mark is faded away. I did not find the mark in three different sources such as Cieslik's books nor Herlocher's book of marks. If you recognize the mark - please share what you know. Her black bonnett has velvet on the back and I think taffeta elsewhere. It is lined with a bronze taffeta on the inside. The bonnet's ribbon is fragile and worn. A part of the bonnet' ribbon has separated from the bonnet which will be included for buyer to decide how to use it if you can. I have place the piece in the doll's right hand in one of the photos. I advise you to be gentle with the remaining ribbon. I will turn and tuck the bonnet ribbon into the bonnet for shipping. I will not tie it around her neck. Her wig has two braids, a fabric cap, and is in nice condition. I think some small ribbons at the end of her braids might brighten her up... I'll leave that to the buyer. Same with the sash around her waist. The front bow I advise you leave it be and not try to untie it. The waist sash is pinned to her skirt in the front - just look under the bow to find the pins - remove those carefully and you can release the sash from the dress without untying the bow in the front. The sleeves have a scalloped textured cuff at the elbow lenth. there is some texture design in the fabric but also coloring from age and some wear - be gentle. The antique gold cord that wraps around the buttons may be shorter than originally but currently is tied to fit. Some buttons in the front are still attached with the old thread that is fragile - so the slightest pull may detach the buttons. Some of the buttons are already sewn back on with newer thread. So be ready for the need to reattach buttons that may detach unexpectedly due to the old thread. There are 8 buttons altogether. If one falls off during shipment.... check the packaging carefully before assuming its missing. I'll try to package her carefully to prevent you losing a button. I don't think her shoes have ever been removed ... they would not budge when I tried so I decided to leave them alone - I have not seen her feet therefore and she is sold as is. I don't suggest removing the shoes... to prevent them from tearing. Someone reset her eyes before she came to me.I restrung her and she can pose some as in the photos but a doll stand is recommended. SOLD AS IS Will have bisque head carefully cusioned inside and out. She'll be in large sturdy box so that she lies straight and is cushioned in on all sides to prevent movement. Please view ALL photos carefully. NO PARTIAL REFUNDS. Ships USPS GROUND Thank you for stopping by my shop.🌷
