It opens and there is a mirror on one side though it is not very clear to view anything. Could be used to place a small keepsake inside. It is hallmarked Anchor / Lion / k for Birmingham 1909. The maker mark is WM for William Manton. Comes on an 18” (45cm) sterling silver chain stamped Sterling. Total weight is 6.8 grams. The locket has some dents and marks.
