Description: This listing is for the old chromolithograph print that you see in the photo. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon why was not told it's history. I am guessing that it is from the early part of the 20th century. It is not signed but the image is a very famous work by Millet known as "The Angelus". The frame measures supposed to 24 1/4 by 21 inches. The area of the print exposed by the blue fabric measures close to 19 3/4 x 16 1/2 inches. The framed print weighs close to 4 pounds 2 ounces. It appears to be a chromo lithograph that has a little hand coloring. I am certain that it is not a photolithograph. The hand coloring is obvious on the sleeve of the man. I find it curious that the same color of paint can be seen on the horizon to the left of the man. The frame looks carved but I wonder if the design is molded. The wood is some kind of hard wood. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. There are some cracks finish of the frame. There is a crack in the painting that runs from the left hand edge to the man. You can see it in the photos. As obvious as it is in the close-ups it is still not very obvious to a casual observer of the painting. In fact I have sometimes struggled to see it. You can also see us scratch in a close up. Also near the bottom of my left hand corner there is slight distortion in the flat surface of the paper that you can see when it is looked at while angled to a light. There are a few tiny specs of white in the painting and some very minor dents. Otherwise, it s generally fine and as shown. I guarantee this painting to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. I allow two business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials. Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends. Thanks for looking at my ad.
