Description: Intriguing antique 19th century or earlier portrait oil painting of two 15th/16th century paupers or bandits. The two young men look like thieves scouting the area before they steal. Their attire is earlier than the 19th century and looks to be typical of the 1500s or 1600s. Medium is oil paint and the painting is on a burlap type material. It looks to have been spot cleaned in areas. The nails and stretcher bars date to the late 19th century however this could be an earlier piece that has been retrenched long ago. Reminiscent of a painting from the 16th century. In Good condition with soiling and wear consistent with age. Exhibits cracking and toning in areas. No holes, rips, tears or indents.
