This is a rare Art Institute t shirt that reproduces an image of Jossot’s sardine advertisement/poster. The back of the shirt says “Art Institute of Chicago.” The color of the fabric is a khaki that has a tinge of olive green to it. It is a unique color that is hard to describe. I love how Jossot depicted Aristide Bruant (obviously seen on the right in the red scarf). The poster also shows other celebrities enjoying sardines, including Philippe Grenier, Yvette Guilbert, Henri Rochefort, and Sarah Bernhardt. I’ve taken good care of the shirt. The shirt was bought from the Art Institute during the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition several years ago. The tag says it is a size L. I provide measurements below to help you to determine fit. Please use these measurements as a comparison to a shirt that you own that fits you well. Measuring across the chest under the arms: about 21 3/8”Measuring the length of the front from center front collar to bottom hem: about 25 1/4”Measuring across the shoulders from seam to seam: about 20 1/2”. Measurements were taken with shirt lying flat. Before listing the shirt, it was washed in unscented detergent and dried flat. It has no stains or holes and all seams/hems are intact. It comes from a nonsmoking home. The images look nice for a preowned shirt. There is a tiny faded line on the right shoulder that is seen if you really scrutinize the fourth photo in the list. It is not very noticeable but I wanted to let you know about it in advance. The fabric is still nice and sturdy. Please let me know if you have any questions about the shirt. It’s a nice shirt for the fan of 19th century French art. To the best of my ability, I have scrutinized this item for flaws.
