What is a “blind box collectable?” Blind box collectables, called “gashapon” in Japan, is the hobby of collecting items without knowing exactly what you are going to get. All the possibilities are printed on the back of the packaging but until the package is opened the exact item is unknown. Large networks of gashapon collectors trade on a regular basis in Japan.
