Description: This is a unique opportunity to own authentic US Army Indian Wars relics. Two-item lot: one 45-70 fired casing, one 45-70 fired bullet. All items were dug on private property with permission on what was once Fort Custer, Montana. They are uncleaned and have a nice patina. The two items in the pictures are what you will get. Looking at the head stamp, the case was made in April, 1880. It is stamped with a "C" at the 12 o'clock position, as it was to be shot from a carbine (Cavalry). The "F" stamped at the 6 o'clock means it was made at the Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia, PA. The case is of the earlier "Benet" style using an internal primer, and it was flattened at the top a long time ago, most likely by the soldier. There are no live primers, and no gun powder is present. None of these items can be reloaded. They were shot by the United States Army in the 1880's in their quest to subdue the Sioux and Cheyenne after the Little Big Horn battle. These items are perfect for militaria collectors and those interested in the history of the United States. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of history!
