Description: Original Indian War Era US M1866 & 1869 Cadet Musket .50-70 Caliber Socket Bayonet & Scabbard w/US Escutcheon - Blade is "US" Marked & Scabbard is Rock Island Arsenal Marked - Very Nice ConditionUp for sale is an Original Indian War Era US Model 1866 & 1869 Cadet Musket .50-70 Caliber Socket Bayonet. This bayonet has the US over S marking. This bayonet will fit the M1866 & 1869 Cadet Musket. The blade and socket are in Excellent Condition. The bayonet is 16 1/4" overall length, 11/16" wide, with a 2 15/16" socket, .739" bore and 15" face flute. It also includes the CORRECT Length Scabbard with a Leather Frog & Belt Loop with a Brass US Escutcheon. The scabbard has a black finish. The are some minor scratches in the finish. No dings or dents in the scabbard. The leather frog is the US Model 1873, the leather is soft and supple. No cracks or crazing in the leather. It is marked: Rock Island Arsenal. This is a nice example of this RARE bayonet, don't miss your chance to bid. See photo's for condition. Very hard to find Original Cadet Bayonets from this period.
