Description: I have a collection of 20 Colonial Williamsburg Houses and accessories made by Lang & Wise, that I purchased myself while visiting Williamsburg in 1997. Williamsburg is a fascinating, large and accurate preservation of American colonial history of the entire community of old Williamsburg as in the late eighteenth century. These buildings I have for sale are replicas of the original buildings that have been completely restored and currently in the village today. I purchased these when they first came out by Lang & Wise, so they are First Editions and were very hot items. I brought them home and put them away. I never displayed them. They are BRAND NEW, never been out of the box. I took them out the first time for these pictures. So now you get these vintage houses from 1997 and now 22 years old, but still NEW.These have been very expensive to very inexpensive. I have priced mine somewhere in between. These houses are not made anymore and I suspect all you see by Lang & Wise are over 20 years old. Each building has the name embossed on the bottom and some state the first edition 1997.These are all made of ceramic, similar to Dept 56 houses and most include light string and are designed to light up. All my pieces are in perfect, new condition and come in the original boxes, also in perfect condition. This piece is called Plowing the Field with Oxen #30489703.The colony had many farmers and ranchers right in the town. These figures depicting typical life in the colony really made scenes come alive. Here is husband and wife with their pair of oxen, working the field. It measures 3 1/4" tall, 8" wide, by 5".
