The plant you will receive will have slight differences from the photos in the listing as no two plants are the same. They will be guaranteed vibrant and healthy and ready for transplanting. We do not ship with the pot as the pot allows for too much soil moisture evaporation. It will be securely adhered to the package wall for the safest shipping method possible. PLEASE BE ADVISED: From October to March, we ship these plants in their dormant state. This means they will have no leaves. If you live in a southern state, these will push new growth upon planting them as dormancy is dependent on hours of daylight and temperature. It is now naturalized throughout much of the temperate regions of eastern and central North America. General Description: Herbaceous, sweetly scented flowering perennial. Hardiness Zone: 3 to 8 Maintenance: Low Mature Height: 6 to 12 inches Mature Width: 8 to 12 inches Plant Details: Growth Habit: Spreads by rhizomes to form dense colonies. Leaf Structure: Each plant has 2 or 3 parallel-veined, elliptical green leaves, 5 to 10 inches long and 1 to 3 inches wide. Stem Structure: Straight to slightly arching, single stem which bears a one-sided raceme of flowers. The upright dormant stems are often called pips. These grow into new leafy shoots in the spring. Winterization Methods: While not required but will make your plants/bed/garden look tidier, cut back the foliage to ground level after they have flowered and died back. Then add a 1 inch thick blanket of compost, well-aged manure, or both over the top of the plants. Dig, divide, and relocate Lily of the Valley pips in autumn if they are starting to look overcrowded in their space.
