CHANDRIKA AYURVEDIC SOAP has been made in India since 1940 "from genuine herbal extracts and high-quality vegetable oils" by S.V. Products of Bangalore (Bengaluru). Its amazing fragrance comes from a combination of wild ginger, lime peel, hydnocarpus oil, orange oil and sandalwood oil in a base of coconut oil. MYSORE SANDAL SOAP is the "only soap with pure sandalwood oil," according to the box, produced by the Govt. Soap Factory in erstwhile Bangalore. The company was established by the King of Mysore in 1916 as a way to use excess sandalwood oil that was prevented from shipping to Europe due to WWI.
