This jug is in good antique condition with only a small professionally repair chip to its rim and a tight/fine hairline to its handle. Marked on bottom is Sarreguemines/ 3319. Like most antique majolica, it has some crazing and discoloration. A similar pitcher can be found on the cover of the book as well as on page 69 in "Majolica Figures by Helen Cunningham, 1997" and is described as difficult to find by the author as : "Female versions of character jugs are usually more valuable, since fewer were manufactured, circa 1880."
