This is a splendid 1962 edition published by The Macmillan Company with reproductions of the original plates, each captioned with description and notes on habitat, identification, and nesting. Original title page facsimile included. This book is the perfect gift for animal lovers, nature lovers, art enthusiasts, and history buffs alike. CONDITION: This Book is in good condition. Tight binding. Clean text. No writing, no bookplates. The dust jacket is scuffed, has a few minor tears and edge wear but it was wrapped with a clear cover and secured with tape by previous owner to protect it from further damage. Pages have turned yellow from age. Foxing on the book edges commensurate with age. There is a tear on the inner hinge. There is a small tear on the bottom of plate 373. Please see pictures.
