Description: The Portland Mavericks 1977 Vintage Men's Hoodie Description The Portland Mavericks were an independent professional baseball team based in Portland, Oregon. They began play in the short-season Class A Northwest League in 1973 after the MLB took away Portland’s class AAA MLB affiliated team, the Portland Beavers. The Beavers were not drawing solid attendance numbers, which ultimately led to their demise. The Mavericks operated as an independent club in Portland for five seasons, until the return of the PCL in 1978 and to this day are remembered fondly somewhere between a mix of mythical misfits and a real squad, but however you remember them, they are legends of baseball. Details Like all our designs, this one is treated with our signature ‘relic-ing’ process which includes our own secret recipe of hand-painted chipping, cracking, fading, and just the right touch of yellowing to ensure that it looks the part of a true vintage imprint.** We lay these works of art down on super soft Gildan 18500 hoodies via state of the art direct to garment (DTG) printing which allows us to create a vintage effect that simply can’t be accomplished with other printing methods.
