Description: Tiffany & Co 14K Gold Pocket Knife Wostenholm Blades Antique Vintage Rare Beautiful and rare 14K yellow gold pocket knife was sold by Tiffany & Company in the 19th century. Knife has two George Wostenholm blades and one file. Pocket knife measures 2.6 inches long or 3 inches with the bail/hook. Blades measures approximately 1.5 inches and 1 inch and file measures approximately 1.5 inches. Hallmarked with "Tiffany & Co and 14K" on the bail/hook and "I XL George Wostenholm Sheffield England" on one blade and "I XL George Wostenhom Sheffield" on the second blade and a visible "I XL George" on the top portion of the filer. Entire knife weighs 31 Grams. Terrific, vintage piece, never monogrammed. Some light scratches consistent with age. Interior and blades could use a good cleaning. Any sportsman would love this collectable gift. The knife is in excellent vintage condition and it's believed to have a rich history. An interesting fact but do not have proof. I was told that this knife belonged to William Henry "Bill" Mauldin, an American editorial cartoonist who won two Pulitzer Prizes for his work. Story has it that this knife was left in a shoe box among other items to Bill Mauldin's housekeeper. Bill Mauldin was well known for his drawings of the life of the World War II Combat Soldier and his cartoons portrayed real army life. Do not purchase this knife purely on this story. It's what I was told when I made the purchase and thought it was interesting and wanted to share. For this reason alone, I decided not clean the interior of the knife. FREE LAYAWAYS
