Description: This vintage Eveready lantern from the late 1930s /early 1940s runs on Eveready 950 batteries and an Eveready 1127 bulb. The battery housing box measures 6" x 3" x 1.5" and the bulb lens cover has a diameter of 2.5" The patent for this electric lantern design was filed on 1-29-38 by lawyers on behalf of inventor Le Roy Brown. The patent was published 7-4-1939, U.S. Patent #2164898. It was also patented in Britain and Canada. This is a very cool talking piece and this particular Eveready design is hard to find for sale, while their other designs seem prolific. It needs to be cleaned up, hopefully by a restoration buff, though it's still cool as it is. There is cord damage, a crack in the glass lens cover, and one flap on the side of the light housing doesn't want to fold down (possibly correctable with lubrication, but unsure). The flaps both need to be down to connect to the battery housing box, as seen in the last photo (only one flap is connected in the photo). As is condition. Please view all photos carefully and zoom in for details, as the photos are part of the description. Shipping in continental US only.
