Description: Vintage Mid Century Modern Hollywood Regency Italian BORGHESE Gilt Plaster Oval Mirror, Size 13 1/4" x 11 1/4". The gilded frame features grapes and grape leaves on vines with tendrils. Probably made between 1955 and 1960. Gilded over gesso ground and plaster. Topped with a brass ring for hanging. The back is sealed with a red/brown painted paper bearing the Borghese paper label. Borghese produced very high-quality decorative accent pieces in Italy from the early 20th Century until the early 1970's. Very nice vintage condition, rich patina of age on the gilt. A few small chips in plaster (see pictures). Paper backing is complete but loose edged in spots.
