Description: This is a Vintage hand-carved Argillite Haida Eagle Plaque / Pendant carved by Haida Craftsman Denny Dixon. This Plaque is etch signed on the back by Denny Dixon and dated 3/96. Denny is a member of the Eagle clan. He works primarily with argillite, carving poles, platters, boxes, pendants, and pins. As a self-taught artist, Denny was influenced by the late carver, Pat McGuire. His brother is also an established argillite carver, Pat Dixon. Internationally known, he has worked at the Montreal Museum, and has presented an argillite box to the Empress of Japan. He is from Skidegate which is located in the Queen Charlotte Islands of British Columbia, Canada. This Plaque is 2 1/8" wide, by 1 3/8" tall, by 1/8" thick. The Plaque weighs .5 OZ. The Plaque is in Very Good Condition. There are very minor signs of age and handling, mostly small surface scratches. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge. Some wear is to be expected, unless described as flawless or mint. I cannot know everything about every item I offer, I do inspect each item and list all known flaws or damage. So please take a good look at the photos and ask questions if need be. #F0/ba LBoE9 042822
